Okra and cherry tomatoes with a side of pomegranate infused sweet potatoes.
♬ 'True Reggae' By Various Artists
A bit of reggae to start the weekend, and a great compilation that keeps me moving in the kitchen.
'Sweets For My Sweets' by C.J Lewis popped in my head this morning and was the main reason why I chose the album. A weird song to start the day, but actually reminded me of the walk back from secondary school; I used to stop at the corner shop to rent a dvd, and buy a few sweets.
When arriving back home I would check to see what curry my mum had left me.
Okra curry in the pot... I was disappointed, but was told all beautiful women have them in their diets. I always closed my eyes when eating a teaspoon of the slimy weird looking green things, hoping my skin would be like a goddess when I opened them.
When I saw them going for a £1 in Dalston I had to buy a bowl, supermarkets pack them in 175g and sell them for £2 - £3. What a rip off! Yes you should invest in good food, but please I could whip up a salad from my back garden for less.
Enough of rant.. here is the recipe, cooked while listening to Shaggy...where is he now? He comes back every 10 years, makes a hot shot, then goes on a really long holiday.
Not bad.
